Michael “Sharky” Marquez started Out Cast Fishin Charters in 2014 while still at Texas A&M — fishing between classes, logging Coast Guard sea time, and building the Monsta Apparel brand before he’d even graduated.
Since 2016, Out Cast has been voted the #1 Charter Company in Galveston every single year, and Sharky has been named Best Boat Captain in the same stretch. He’s the Saltwater Ambassador for Academy Sports & Outdoors, a spokesman for Honda Marine Motors, a regular on The 610 Morning Show with Mickey Eastman, and the host of The Monsta Catch series on SHARKY TV.
Louisiana-raised, Texas-tested. Chris started fishing with his dad at age five and grew up split between salt and fresh water — marshes, bayous, offshore. A career in retail paid the bills until 2020, when the pull of the water finally won out. He’s a fan favorite for a reason: all laughs, all day.
From Waco, hooked since age four, and a USCG Captain at eighteen — James came up learning every angle of the hunt, from sight-casting on the fly to spear diving. The "Jetty" nickname came from his chef-level skill at prepping whatever he pulled out of the rocks.
Austin-raised freshwater kid who moved to Galveston in 2002 and fell in love with saltwater. Put in sea-time hours working every job he could find, joined Out Cast as a deckhand in 2018, and was behind the wheel as a captain by early 2019. Loves teaching kids and first-timers — his following says it all.
Connie Marquez — AKA "Momma Sharky" — is the cement that holds the Out Cast family together. From the first phone call to the walk off the dock with your bag of catches, her goal is a memory-making experience on and off the water. She’s been keeping the operation running since 2016 and every guest feels the difference.
